Viewpoint Photographic Art Center, Inc. offers several levels of membership to meet the needs of our diverse community.

All members enjoy these benefits (click the following links to expand and reveal)

One of the main purposes of Viewpoint is to provide a community for photographic artists, in which photographers can connect with and be invigorated by others who share their passion for photography.
  • Receptions: For each show at the Viewpoint Gallery, there is a Second Saturday reception. Members and visitors view the current show, sample the refreshments, and socialize. Talks, demonstrations, or other events are held in conjunction with the receptions for many shows.
  • Print Nights The first Wednesday of each month, members gather at the gallery to show and discuss prints. You can bring finished prints or work prints, one print or many, in any style or medium. Or you can just drop in to see and discuss what others are doing. Print Night is low-key and informal; just come to the Viewpoint Gallery at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month.
  • Field Trips:  Viewpoint sponsors photographic outings to a variety of locations several times a year. Often we visit places where individual photographers would not normally be admitted. Field trips offer a chance to socialize with other photographers while exploring a new or familiar site in search of images.
  • Membership and Business Meetings: On the second Wednesday evening of even-numbered months, Viewpoint presents a lecture, presentation, discussion, or social event (always free) for the membership. On the second Wednesday evening of odd-numbered months, there is a business meeting—open to all—where plans for Viewpoint are discussed and made.
As a Viewpoint Photographic Art Center member, you have many formal and informal opportunities to show your work.
  • For immediate feedback, there’s the monthly Print Night.
  • The Viewpoint Gallery’s exhibit schedule includes a Members’ Show each year, featuring work from Viewpoint members. There is also a show devoted to the annual fund-raising Auction and Print Drawing, to which members are encouraged to donate prints.
  • On the Viewpoint website there is a Members’ Gallery open to all members. Submission requirements are simple; details are here.
  • Members wanting to have prints at Viewpoint Gallery full-time for viewing and sale can become Portfolio Members (subject to availability). For details about Portfolio Memberships, click here.
  • In the Viewpoint Newsletter, you can find out about other showing opportunities in the area, as well as announce your own shows or other events.
